How does a position get added to the City's Conflict of Interest Code?

Adding positions to the City’s Conflict of Interest Code is a legislative process. The most recent review took place in 2022.

The next review will take place in 2024.

The review period is initiated by the Board of Supervisors through dissemination of a memo to department heads. Departments who wish to make changes to their code section work with the City Attorney’s office directly. The amended ordinance is then drafted by the City Attorney’s office, agendized, and eventually adopted by the BOS.
